Sewing Bee!!!!

Hi Guys!!!
Sorry for the lack of postage of late, getting used to being back at work
and having a regular sleeping pattern.
I thought I'd do a little post regarding home sewing!
It seems to have become fashionable to have a little dabble on the sewing machine.
Having done two degrees in fashion my sewing machine is my best friend
at times and my worst enemy at others.
I do however love my industrial machine. Brother Bertie :-)
Now its getting warmer I can get back into my little cubby hole and start
my little machining factory.
Here are a few bits i did last summer which I will be making more of.
I love this abstract floral tea dress. I plan to be making a good few of these!!!

Front.

Love this vintage tropical print!!!

I also have my own little company called Spotty Dotty where I get to have fun with
printing my illustrations and pretty much have everything skulled up.

Love my polo - it's based on me and my fiance!

Heres a little pic of me rocking my own tee :-)
(pre purple hair)

If you like my polo come and check out my little website with both mens and ladies
skull/zombie covered tees. Spotty Dotty

I cant wait to get back onto my sewing machine!!!
Something so relaxing just having your music on and spending the day creating something.
Hope this inspires others to be creative and get sewing.
Love
Gemma xx

Nails that sparkle!!!

Apart from browsing for clothes online on a Sunday night it would seem my
other ritual is painting my nails.
It is really something that relaxes me and helps me to
calm my mind :-)
I thought I'd do a little post on my favourite way of doing my nails.

Rimmel 60 Second and Barry M have to be my favourite Nail varnishes.
they just glide on so beautifully and don't streak and dry relatively quickly.
When I take hours taking off my nail varnish (due to too many layers) there is nothing better to relax those hand muscles than Soap & Glorys - Hand Food.
It smells beautiful and is not too thin that you feel like you're washing your hands and not to thick that you find yourself rubbing your hands for hours.
It's juuuuusssssttttt right. (my best Goldilocks impression.)
Right guys this is something that I don't even let my fiance see.
Bare nails!!!!
For me it's something of a horror movie! eeekkk!
The yellow is from years of having red and other dark nail varnish that its stained my nails.
However, Top Tip Time!!!!
When I had my nails done for my holiday the lady advised me to remove the
yellow stains the best thing to do, is to paint them a natural pink.
Something within the pink nail varnish works as a de-yellowing agent.
I have tried it and it really does work!!!!
Next step base coat colour.....
I usually do 2 to 3 coats as it does come through quite transparent.
I really love this shade by Barry M its called "Nude" number 342 as it is a quite natural colour.
Next, time to add the Sparkles and top coat.

I Love this sparkle / glitter by Barry M it has some pink glitter in there to
warm up the colour and tie in with the pink under coat.
It has a much softer feel than normal silver glitter.
Its called "Rose Quartz" number 349.
For £2.99 I think Barry M Nail Varnish is a real steal and the price does not reflect the quality.
I've done a normal shot and one slightly out of focus so you can see how the nails catch the light.
Sooooo Pretty :-)
I hope you like this post and found it a little helpful.

Wish List

1. I am in love with these Topshop Black Suede Platforms. The bow at the front make them
still girly but the cut of the platform sole is still beautifully modern.
Being black they are so versatile and will go with pretty much anything
so definitely worth paying a little bit more at £68.00.

2. I was so happy when I come across this! Combining two things that I'm a bit obsessed
with at the moment........Lace and Mint.
So this pretty Mint Lace top from Forever 21is an essenial.
I don't honestly think I can wait to buy this top and combi it up with some black jeans
and my Jeffrey Campbell style spiked boots
For £14.75 its just a crazy price.

3. I'm right into my statement necklaces at the moment and think this spike necklace
from River Island is gorgeous. Being Silver I think it will go really well
with the current Pastel trend.

4. I  LOVE LOVE LOVE Topshop lipstick. My current favourite is Navada, but I
don't think it will be long until this is my new favourite.
This shade is called "Saint" and is a really beautiful pastel Pink.
These Lipsticks seem to last forever and for £8.00 It's definitely a bargain.

5.  Love Crop Tee from River Island is a summer essential and has my all time
favourite combined ....... Tropical Print.
Will go great with jeans for a relaxed feel and for holiday some ripped
off jean shorts.

6. Coral/Pink Tube Pants I've been after a pair of Coralish trousers for some time
but never really been happy with either the style or the colour.
However these are PERFECT!!
Great for me who has quite large thighs and find it hard to fit into any trouser
without Elastane and these have a great amount of stretch in them.
I think £35.00 is not a bad price for an bang on trend item.

Well guys I hope you like my first ever Wish list.......I hope I've done it correctly.
Love
Gemma xx

Pin and Go!!!

I always used to hate doing my hair sheerly because of the size of my ears and the fear
boys/(and more recently)men would pick me up after mistaking me for the FA cup.
But hey! After the many years of hiding behind my un-straightened mane I decided
to start playing about a bit more.
I love 50s hair, Victory rolls and bangs as well as the era defying beehive.
So here are a few of my very very quick pin and run hairstyles using my goodies
from my latest hair accessories haul.
Beehive and Alice band.

Very quick beehive and Alice band look. No back combing needed or hair spray.
Just lots of bobby pins and a bump it on tooth comb for £1 from Primark.
Love this Chiffon Alice band from Forever 21.
Loose Beehive and Alice Band.

Finally Purple!!!

I have always wanted to dye my hair purple, but I've always been petrified of bleach.
With a lot of persuasion from my sister (who is a hairdresser) and promises of not turning my into a walking wire brush. I took the plunge.
I was advised to get a really bold bright colour, I needed to use Directions hair dye by La Riche.
Having bleached my hair for an agonising 10 hours (trying to strip the year of black hair dye) it was a relief to put some colour back into my hair.
One bottle coloured all of my hair and only took 15 mins to take and really nourished my hair.
I am so in love with my colour and would recommend it to anyone.

Knowing that I've bleached my hair I need to try and keep as much moisture in as possible. My sister recommended Argan oil and safe to say it's not the cheapest thing in the world.
Parading the aisles at boots searching for a less purse ruining alternative. I was happily surprised to
see my favourite brand Lee Stafford was doing a new range of Argan Oil (Moroccan Oil).

It done exactly what it meant to. It made my hair feel sexy and soft. It also made it look really
shiny and smelt beautiful.
I would definitely recommend both of the products for!!!!
Happy Colouring.
